Guandu Town is approximately 7km southeast of Kunming, on the northern bank of Lake Dianchi. During the Tang Dynasty (618-907), Guandu was a thriving port town. There is a strong Buddhist trend in the village with five sacred mountains, six temples, seven pavilions and eight halls that are all accessible and within walking distance.

Jimggang Pagoda
金刚塔
Located at the center of the town, Jimggang pagoda is also called chuanxin pagoda, for the pedestal inside is empty. You can go through it from any of the four alleyways. Seeing far from any direction, you can see the pagoda clearly. At the foot of the pagoda, there is a cultural relics museum, and the ticket is about 10 yuan per person.

Horse and Buggy
马的
The most common form of transportation in Guandu Town is horse and buggy (madi). For only 0.5-1 yuan, you can travel around like a Tang dynasty official.
Yanjing Baba

The most famous local snack is baba, which is a bun filled with different kinds of treats such as red-bean paste, sugar paste, soybean and the most common, wheat bran. There are two well-known shops which serve baba: Yanjing Baba, which is directly opposite the Tuzu Temple, and Li's Baba, located next to Tuzu Temple. Expect to pay around 0.6 yuan per baba.

Xiaoguo Noodles

Mixian, is a kind of rice noodles and traditional Yunnan food. There are two kinds of mixian soup. One features a single kind of meat; the other features mixed meats. Hot chicken soup is placed in a large bowl and then fresh pork, chicken, beef, or a combination of meats is added to the broth. Green vegetables are added and then the noodles are added. Expect to pay 2 yuan for a small bowl, 2.5 yuan for a medium serving, and 3 yuan for a large bowl.

Guanjie Market
关街集市
Address: At the north end of Jichang Lu Guanjie market is just like any other: Big and overcrowded. It's mainly a fresh produce market, where farmers from nearby villages sell their vegetables. Fresh foods and local snacks are also cheap and tasty. Roasted corn is the most popular among the locals.
